The Tithe Barn Wedding, Emily & Chris

Towards the end of the summer I was in Bedfordshire to photograph the wedding of Emily and Chris at St Joseph’s catholic church and the stunning Tithe Barn. I love being a Tithe barn Wedding photographer.  It is such a fabulous venue that I always look forward to visiting to photograph a wedding.

Emily got ready at her parents house before heading to the nearby St Joseph’s church for the ceremony. I arrived ahead of the bridal party in order to capture some nice photos of Chris and guests. St Joseph’s church is a grand space full of natural light. This made capturing Emily’s entrance was super simple and she looked amazing making her way down the long aisle towards Chris. The ceremony was so lovely with a mixture of emotions, both laughter and a few tears. Pretty sure I had a smile on my face the whole time.

An epic confetti run followed the ceremony with a bunch of group photos at the front of the church. After many hugs and congratulations, Emily and Chris jumped in a fabulous vintage Citroen car and headed to The Tithe Barn for the reception.

Here's what Emily & Chris had to say about their wedding

What was your favourite part of the wedding?
After saying our vows & making it official, walking out to the confetti & everyone cheering! Time to celebrate!

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.
Chris’s mum made the invitations for us, the Mr & Mrs letters on the gift table and all of the butterflies and flowers on the tables. Emily created the centre pieces & the bunting on the gift table. We chose our favourite colours which are unique for weddings; yellow and purple.

Why did you choose your venue?
The church we chose because it was where Emily was baptised, had holy communion & confirmation. It was also where her parents, grandparents & countless other family members have got married.

The reception venue is near our new home, on the river which we loved & full of natural character & beauty as it’s a barn.

How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?
We liked how chatty & friendly you were. All of our guests said what a lovely person Lee is. We liked how we didn’t even know you were there taking photos and the surprise of moments you captured when we got the photos.

Very impressed with how quickly we got them & we loved them. They really captured the heart of the day & you let us be unique in the way we took them. Thanks for taking some pictures based on our suggestions too!

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?
It will all come together in the end & you’ll enjoy your day regardless of the small insignificant details!

Me and the guests beat Emily and Chris to The Tithe Barn so I spent the time photographing the guests enjoying a drink and sharing a laugh or two. When Emily and Chris arrived we did an '‘everyone’ group photo before taking a walk around the grounds to take some natural couple photos. This is a great time to get photos of you looking amazing and gives you a minute away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding. Following the couple photos I captured some more candid photos before everyone sat down for their meal.

I took a little breather while the guests, Emily and Chris enjoyed their meal before capturing some brilliant speeches. The night for me came to an end after photographing the dancing and the first dance.

A Summer Wedding Photography at The Tithe Barn

I have photographed many weddings in fine venues all over the UK.  I can see why Emily and Chris chose to get married at The Tithe Barn.  A beautiful country Hotel set in mature green space. If it's a rustic venue you are looking for, this really is the place.  The photo opportunities are endless and it is a dream venue for a photographer, with so many fantastic options available.

I really loved working with Emily and Chris, such a lovely couple and a great celebration.

I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for looking.
