Annabelle & Dana's Elegant Henley-on-Thames Wedding | Hotel du Vin & Henley Town Hall
There are some weddings that perfectly capture everything I love about documentary wedding photography, and Annabelle and Dana's beautiful celebration in Henley-on-Thames was certainly one of them. From a relaxed morning at Hotel du Vin to an emotional ceremony at Henley Town Hall and an unforgettable evening of celebrations back at the hotel, the entire day was filled with genuine moments, laughter and so much love.
Bridal Preparations at Hotel du Vin, Henley-on-Thames
The day began at the wonderful Hotel du Vin in the heart of Henley-on-Thames. The atmosphere was calm and full of excitement as Annabelle spent the morning getting ready with her closest family and friends. These quieter moments before the ceremony are always some of my favourites to photograph – the anticipation, the final touches, the smiles shared between bridesmaids and those emotional moments with family.
The stylish rooms at Hotel du Vin provided the perfect backdrop, with beautiful natural light streaming through the windows, making for some lovely relaxed getting ready pictures before it was time to head to the ceremony.
A Beautiful Ceremony at Henley Town Hall
Just a short walk away, Henley Town Hall provided a wonderful setting for Annabelle and Dana's ceremony. With family and friends gathered to witness them exchange their vows, the room was filled with emotion from beginning to end.
The smiles as they walked down the aisle together, the laughter during the ceremony and the joyful applause as they walked back down the aisle as newlyweds were all moments that unfolded naturally. It's these genuine reactions that make documentary wedding photography so rewarding.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside the Town Hall where guests showered the newlyweds with confetti before we took a relaxed stroll through the beautiful streets of Henley-on-Thames to the reception.
Exploring Henley-on-Thames
Henley is one of my favourite locations to photograph weddings. Its charming streets, elegant architecture and riverside setting offer so many opportunities for natural portraits without ever taking the couple away from their guests for too long.
Annabelle and Dana were an absolute pleasure to photograph. They were relaxed, completely themselves and simply enjoyed spending time together while we captured a few timeless images around the town.
Celebrating Back at Hotel du Vin
The celebrations continued back at Hotel du Vin, where guests enjoyed drinks, delicious food and heartfelt speeches. The reception had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of laughter, happy tears and stories that had everyone smiling.
As the evening unfolded, the dance floor quickly filled with family and friends celebrating together. From the first dance through to the lively party later in the evening, there was no shortage of memorable moments to capture.
