Tythe Barn Wedding, Sam & Alan

In September I was in Launton, Bicester for a Tythe Barn wedding, with Sam and Alan. This was my first time at Tythe barn and I must say it is now one of my favourite barn wedding venues.  If you are planning a wedding and considering a barn, I'd highly recommend having a look at Tythe Barn. I was recommended to Sam and Alan by a wedding photographer friend.  He was attending the wedding as a guest so they had asked him for some good recommendations. As you can see I got the gig and I am so pleased they chose me from all the names they were given.

Tythe Barn

The day of the wedding was one of those warm September days, the perfect conditions for a wedding. I arrived at Tythe and headed to the nook, where Sam and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Close by Alan and his groomsmens were getting ready at the Chesterton Hotel. The ceremony was held in Tythe's beautiful courtyard.  A very emotional ceremony with hardly a dry eye in the house.Another first for me was the appearance of singing waiters after the speeches.  A row broke out between two of the waiters before they broke into song and pretty much got everyone involved.  Definitely a great way to get a wedding rocking. It was great working with Sam and Alan.  They were so lovely and it was a fabulous day to photograph. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.

Barn Wedding

The Tythe Barn at Launton, is one of the finest Tythe barns used for weddings in Oxfordshire.Built between 1360 and 1370, it retains many of its original features, including most of the wooden beams. Historically The Tythe barn would have been used to store the local people’s produce and a percentage would have been given to the owner as payment. This is where the name Tythe comes from. Retained in the same family since 1480 and is still a working farm, it was also used to house the farm animals. The Barn has since been beautifully restored and adapted to cater for barn weddings.

Tythe Barn Wedding Photographer

I really love being a Tythe barn wedding photographer. I feel very lucky to work in such beautiful surroundings. If you are looking for a venue to host you wedding, then Tythe is definitely worth considering. As soon as you enter the site and make your way through the wooden entrance, you are greeted by a lovely courtyard and beyond that, the former cowshed with its recently restored thatched roof.Walking through the front entrance into the Barn you are greeted by a lovely open rustic space with light streaming in through the windows. It is a blank canvas, on which to create your dream wedding. Making your way through the Barn and out into the inner courtyard, a beautiful leafy walkway leads you to the Nook. It is a fabulous small building, privately surrounded by a stone wall, and is the perfect place to get ready.I have fond memories of Sam and her bridesmaids secretly peeking over the wall at all the arriving guests.

Tythe Barn offers the use of two large barns, plus the Nook as well as extensive outdoor space and even a Helicopter landing space if that’s how you close to arrive at your wedding.

If you are planning a barn wedding and considering Tythe Barn, I'd love to hear from you.
