St Hilda’s College Wedding Photographer, Grace & Teig

In August I was in Oxford city for a two day event for the very lovely Grace and Teig. The first part was to photography the small legal ceremony at the Oxford Register office with close family and friends. This only required an hours coverage. It was a lovely ceremony that can best be described as being filled with joy.

The second part was what i’ll call the main event. This was held at the wonderful St Hilda’s college in Oxford city center. It’s always lovely to photograph a wedding in the Oxford colleges, so much history and the architecture is truly stunning.

Grace and Teig had hired me for six hours to cover the ceremony onwards and being a creature of habit I arrived a little early and got some lovely venue detail photos before capturing lots of candids of Teig greeting the arriving guests.

The ceremony was held in a room next to the roof terrace which offers views out over Christ church meadow. Once Grace and Teig had said their vows and exchanged rings a drinks reception was held on the terrace before continuing in St Hilda’s beautiful gardens. Whilst the guests were enjoying a drink Grace, Teig and I took the opportunity to go for a walk to take some natural couple photos.

The meal and speeches took place in a fabulous building next to the river Cherwell. Following this there were punt rides and It was soon time for the dancing.

Here's what Grace & Teig had to say about their wedding

What was your favourite part of the wedding?
Everything! Especially the thoughtful and funny speeches!

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.
Just having a good time really! We were so lucky to have all our talented friends and family contribute to theme, decor, cake and the games! Grace (the bride) is so chuffed we managed to do the loud and long YAM SEEEEEEEEEENG which is a classic chinese Malaysian cheers to get everyone drunk!

Why did you choose your venue?
Beautiful spot, good location and well priced!

How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?
Lee was recommended by another fellow photographer. After looking at his portfolio online, we felt he was THE ONE as his pictures were all beautifully candid, and seemed to really capture the moment.

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?
Plan ahead but don't stress out (too early). Don't overstretch yourselves, focus on the most important things for you as a couple at your wedding. Most importantly, enjoy the heck out of your wedding day! We had the best time!

But also, don't allow shots on a pre-paid bar.... it's too dangerous!

An Oxford College Wedding.

I have photographed many weddings in Oxford and all over the UK. I can see why Grace & Teig chose to get married at St Hilda’s College. The photo opportunities were many and it was a dream location for a photographer, with so many fantastic options available.

I really loved working with Teig and Grace, It was such a smashing day.

I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.
