Old Luxters Barn Wedding, Ulrike & Andy
Golden Autumn at Old Luxters Barn: Ulrike and Andy’s Vineyard Wedding
As an Oxfordshire wedding photographer, I’ve seen many venues, but there is something truly special aboutOld Luxters Barn in October. This past autumn, I had the pleasure of capturing Ulrike and Andy’s beautiful celebration at this 18th-century gem nestled in the Hambleden Valley.
A Rustic Sanctuary in the Chiltern Hills
The day began at the Old Luxters Farmhouse, a charming brick-and-flint cottage where Ulrike and her bridal party prepared. The house overlooks the surrounding vineyard, providing a breathtaking, peaceful backdrop for those final morning moments.
Ulrike and Andy chose the barn for its perfect blend of rustic charm and effortless elegance. Inside, the 17th-century timber beams were draped in twinkling fairy lights and glowing candles, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that is a dream to photograph.
The Ceremony and Vineyard Portraits
Their ceremony took place in the heart of the barn, a space historically known for its incredible acoustics. After saying their "I dos," the new Mr. and Mrs. led their guests out into the enclosed courtyard for a celebratory drinks reception.
Since Old Luxters is part of the Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery, guests enjoyed locally produced wines while we snuck away for portraits. The October light was particularly kind, casting a soft, golden glow over the vineyard rows, which at this time of year are rich with deep autumnal hues.
An Unforgettable Evening
The wedding breakfast featured exceptional in-house catering, served in the barn’s flexible layout. As night fell, the party moved to the raised gallery, where the DJ kicked off a night of non-stop dancing. Because the venue holds a, Ulrike, Andy, and their guests were able to celebrate well into the early hours.
Ulrike and Andy, thank you for letting me document your incredible day. Your wedding was a masterclass in how to combine the natural beauty of the Oxfordshire countryside with a relaxed, joyful celebration.
