Charingworth Manor Wedding, Nicola & James

In late May I was in the Cotswolds to photograph the wedding of Nicola and James at the stunning Charingworth Manor. I love being a Charingworth Manor Wedding photographer.  It is such a fabulous venue, I always look forward to photographing a wedding there. The weather gods were definitely on our side as we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine all day.

Nicola and James both got ready at the venue, but in separate locations. The ceremony was held in the Orangery, which is stunning and flooded with plenty of natural light. The ceremony was so lovely with a mixture of emotions, both laughter and a few tears. Pretty sure I had a smile on my face the whole time.

An epic confetti run followed by the drinks reception on the landscaped lawns. Many drinks and laughs were shared to the melodic sounds of the Harpist, Angharad James.

Here's what Nicola & James had to say about their wedding

What was your favourite part of the wedding?
We both loved the Ceilidh - having a family band play for the day was really special, and it allowed us to get some great pictures of all of our guests enjoying themselves too.

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.

We were very lucky and had a lot of personal touches from our parents, with Nicola's mum putting together favour bags, and decorating much of then venue, including a tree near the entrance to put special messages on, and James' mum making name tags for chairs, and custom napkins for us.

Why did you choose your venue?
We really wanted to get married in the Cotswolds, as we love the location, and were looking for a venue which could host the whole day, as well as somewhere everyone could stay. As our wedding was quite small, we wanted a venue that specialised in smaller weddings, and Charingworth fit the bill perfectly.

How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?
First off, we're absolutely thrilled with the photos, which document the day perfectly - everything we wanted to be captured is in our album which is everything we could ask for. We didn't want to spend too much of our day posing for portraits, so we were really happy with your approach of taking more candid type shots. That being said, we love the portrait shots we have too, especially the sunset photos! You also did an incredible job of including the wonderful scenery in the photos, and really making the most of the location.

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?
We were really happy with the way the day went, and really wouldn't change much - I guess we probably wouldn't have sweated the small stuff so much. We probably worried about some of the minor details that really didn't matter so much on the day.

A selection of images from Nicola & James's Charingworth Manor Wedding

Following a nice walk around the grounds with Nicola and James for a few natural couple photos, we all headed over to the Hotel Orangery for the sit down meal. The wedding breakfast room is spectacular and feels very luxurious.

I took a little breather while the guests, Nicola and James enjoyed their meal before capturing some brilliant speeches. The night for me came to an end after photographing the Ceilidh dancing and the first dance. As I was leaving I noticed how beautiful the light was outside, so popped back in to see if Nicola and James wanted to come outside with me and grab a fantastic sunset parting shot. They did…….

A Summer Wedding Photography at Charingworth Manor

I have photographed many weddings in fine venues all over the UK.  I can see why Nicola and James chose to get married at Charingworth Manor.  A beautiful country Hotel set in acres of mature green space. If it's a grand backdrop you are looking for, this really is the place.  The photo opportunities are endless and it is a dream venue for a photographer, with so many fantastic options available.

I really loved working with Nicola and James, such a lovely couple and a great celebration.

I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for looking.
