Bisham Abbey Wedding, Leigh & Chris

Back in the spring I was in Marlow to photograph a civil ceremony and drinks reception for the lovely Leigh and Chris at the prestigious Bisham Abbey. I love being a Bisham Abbey Wedding photographer,  It is such a fabulous venue. I always look forward to photographing a wedding there.

I was so pleased when Leigh and Chris asked me to be their wedding photographer after being recommended by their friend who was a previous client.  It was also great to be back at Bisham Abbey, definitely one of my favourite places to capture weddings.

Here's what Leigh & Chris had to say about their wedding

What was your favourite part of the wedding?
Getting all our friends and family together which doesn't happen too often these days! And getting to see all their smiling faces supporting and celebrating us on the day.

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.
Mostly tried not to overthink the details! Loved including Easter themed chocolates etc as it was Easter weekend. We had help from friends and family with the cake and flowers which was lovely too.

Why did you choose your venue?
We loved the setting and the building itself, in particular the outdoor space and the river. The team were also very helpful and friendly and could take care of the finer details of the day.

How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?
We love Lee's style, capturing natural photos of ourselves and our friends and family throughout the day! Lee was friendly and enthusiastic, helping us to do what we wanted on the day! Love the photos we've received too!

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process?
Not too sure! It generally seemed to go quite smoothly. Perhaps would have asked key friends to ensure we grabbed photos with them during the day as it went quickly and was tiring!

A spring wedding at Bisham Abbey

Leigh and Chris booked me for the half day so I was due to start just before the ceremony. I arrived a little early as I always do and started by capturing some lovely details and venue shots. I then hung out with Chris and photographed him greeting the guests as they arrived. The ceremony was so lovely with lots of smiles and a few tears.

Following the ceremony, everyone made their way to the gardens for the drinks reception.

A drinks reception at Bisham Abbey

It was lovely to be back at Bisham Abbey. The weather was sunny and surprisingly warm. Following a few drinks and time for Leigh and Chris to do the rounds chatting to all their friends and loved ones we headed into the beautiful grounds to take some natural couple photos. I love these quiet moments away from the crowds, it can get quite hectic, so it’s nice to go for a little stroll and capture some photos in a more relaxed fashion.

Following the meal and speeches I finished by photographing the first dance and dancing. What a lovely wedding and so enjoyable to photograph.

Wedding Photography at Bisham Abbey

I have photographed many weddings in fine venues all over the UK.  I can see why Leigh and Chris chose to get married at Bisham Abbey. The photo opportunities are endless and it is a dream venue for a photographer, with so many fantastic options available. I really loved working with Leigh and Chris, It was such an intimate, heartwarming day. I hope you enjoy the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.
