The Perch Wedding Photographer , Anna & Dom

Back in September I had the pleasure of shooting a fabulous Perch Wedding with the lovely Anna and Dom.The Perch is a pub I had visited many time and is up there as one of my favourite pubs to photograph a wedding.  You may remember Anna and Dom from a previous post, where we met up before the wedding in Port Meadow to take their pre wedding photos.

I remember having an initial phone call with Anna, where she was telling me all the fabulous details about their wedding and asking if I was free.  Anna and Dom's wedding sounded so cool, I was crossing fingers and toes that I would be the one to be hired for it.  Judging by this post it worked out well and Anna and Dom booked. The logistics for this one were a little different from the norm.  I normally just travel between venues with all my gear, but I decided to pop the essentials in a small bag and travel light. The Spires Hotel in Oxford city was the getting ready spot for Anna and her bridesmaids. They had chosen a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the green fields and River Thames.  Anna had just arrived after having her hair and makeup done at a local salon.  I spent an hour or so with them capturing the atmosphere and the details, before jumping in a taxi and heading to Oxford's Town Hall, where the ceremony was being held. After a beautiful ceremony in the Town hall, we all made our way through town towards The Salters near The Head Of The River pub to catch boats to the Perch. This was fabulous!  I accompanied Anna and Dom along with their parents in a small boat, whilst all the guests hopped onto two larger boats. We all made our way along the Thames through Osney and Port Meadow.  Anna even had got the chance to become skipper and drive the boat.We eventually pulled up at the The Perch's jetty where Anna and Dom were greeted with a shower of confetti. CanapĆ©s, speeches and a lovely meal followed.Following the speeches, I then got to photograph some of the best dance action of the year.I had so much fun capturing all the great moments at Anna & Dom's wedding.  It really was a Lovely day.  Great weather and smashing people who were really up for celebrating this fabulous wedding. If you enjoyed looking at these photos and are planning a wedding, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to drop me a message.

Wedding photography at The Perch

Deciding on how you are going to arrive at The Perch is one of the decisions that must be made while planning your Perch wedding.  All the weddings I have photographed there have chosen to travel from the city center by boat.  This is a fabulous way to treat yourselves and your guests to a magical journey along the river, through part of the city and then into the countryside.  Armed with my camera and trusty 25mm zeiss lens, I love to capture the joy people experience as they take this trip.Once you arrive at The Perch you are greeted with a drink and you make your way through a tunnel like pathway made up of greenery.  Tucked away at the back of the pub garden is a marquee separate from the main pub.  The marquee always looks so pretty after couples have applied their personalities to the interior. If I was to choose a wedding venue to get married, The Perch would definitely be on the list.
