Old Bank Hotel Wedding Photographer, Victoria & John

Being an Old Bank wedding photographer, I regularly get to go into the city and work at this fabulous venue.Victoria and John had originally hired me to photograph their wedding for the full day but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and moving the date 4 times they decided they weren't willing to move again.  Instead, they moved venue and opted for the maximum of 30 attendees.

Photography in Oxford

I have photographed many weddings in Oxford city, including most of the colleges and some of the pubs.  One of the best things about having your wedding in the city of Oxford, is the option of having photos taken at the landmarks.  These include the Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library and the Bridge of Sighs.Taking time out to have a little wander between these sights is great for photos and a fun thing to do.  The public love a bride and will tell you so as you walk down Oxfords busy streets.

Here's what Victoria had to say about their wedding

What was your favourite part of the wedding?Personally, my favourite part was walking down the aisle, arm in arm with my Dad, towards John looking so handsome in his suit.

Please let me know about any personal or DIY touches you added to make the day a little more ‘you’.We loved that we had the opportunity to walk around some of Oxford’s famous sights, in the glorious sunshine. We loved that Lee captured both posed shots and some fantastic photos of us walking through the city.

Why did you choose your venue? We wanted somewhere intimate but quintessentially “Oxford”. The Old Bank was perfect for this!

How did you find using Lee Dann Photography, were there any particular things about my approach that you liked, and how did you feel about the photos once you received them?Lee was so friendly! He was professional and accommodating to our photo requests and extremely patient with our lack of organisation when it came to the order of the group shots! The photos were perfect- especially the ones when it seemed no one knew they were being taken. He was able to capture the most poignant aspects of the day and gave us the most incredible memories to treasure forever.

If you were doing it all again what would be the one bit of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the planning process? So many people told us that despite 4 postponed dates, our eventual day would be perfect. I didn’t believe them - purely out of frustration and disappointment. When it happened, they were so right- I would not have changed a single thing. It was the best day of our lives!

Old Bank Hotel Wedding

After postponing four times and moving the date forward, Victoria and John decided to scale things down and move venues.  They were originally planning a big wedding at Lains Barn, but due to the pandemic and getting tired of waiting, a smaller more intimate wedding was what Victoria and John settled on.This doesn't mean it was any less amazing.  I was hired for 3 hours to capture the ceremony and take a few portraits around the city.  The photos on this post are just a few of the highlights.I really loved working with Victoria and John.  It was such an intimate, heartwarming day.  I can't wait to photograph another Old Bank wedding, hopefully one without a pandemic.I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and if you are planning a wedding I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for looking.
